For the new Mjølhusmoen District Heating Plant, Energos Contract has been turnkey contractor. Included in scope of delivery was; new boiler house, complete technical installation and 800 meters of district heating distribution system.

 

  • Start-up ground work – October 2010
  • Start-up heat delivery – April 2010
  • Biofuel boiler – 900 kW, 140 m3 wood chip silo
  • Gas boiler – 2 x 1120 kW, 70 m3 propane tank
  • Electric boiler – 225 kW

 

Plant runs on biofuel as base case, gas as peak and backup fuel, and electric boiler for periods of low energy demand/supplies.

 

Biofuel is moist wood chips including bark from natural wood, according to CEN/TS 14961 P100, moist <60 % (with air preheater), but also dry wood chips <35% (with flue gas recirculation).

 

Plant supplies heat and domestic hot water for:

  • Primary school
  • 2 football fields
  • Sports building
  • Church
  • Cultural centre
  • Swimming-bath
  • Secondary school
